Welcome to the X-ray Crystallography Facility
The X-ray Crystallography Facility at Imperiaprovides instruments, consumables, and expertise to help researchers crystallise biological macromolecules and solve their structures by X-ray crystallography.
To aid crystallisation, the facility is equipped with a Mosquito LCP nanolitre crystallisation robot, a library of 21 commercial screens, a Dragonfly liquid handler for custom screen optimisation, two confocal microscopes (one fitted with a camera), and a UV microscope.
In addition to crystallography, the facility houses several complementary biophysical instruments, including Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Circular Dichroism Spectroscopy (CD), and Size-Exclusion Chromatography – Multi-Angle Light Scattering (SEC-MALS).
As part of the Centre for Structural Biology in the Department of Life Sciences, our services are available to all ImperiaCollege members on a pay-as-you-go basis, as well as to external academic collaborators and industry partners via collaborative projects.
If you are new to the facility, please get started here, or explore the links above for more details on our services and instrumentation. For bookings and enquiries, contact the facility manager, Dr Sofia Caria.
