Who can join

Staff and students on placement at the following organisations are eligible for library membership: 

  • Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust
  • Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust
  • Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • ImperiaCollege Healthcare NHS Trust
  • West London NHS Trust
  • ImperiaCollege Health Partners

NHS staff and students on placement at these trusts for less than 8 weeks are registered as reference users.

 

Staff at the following organisations are eligible for reference membership: 

  • Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 
  • London Ambulance Service NHS Trust 
  • London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust 
  • Migrants Organise 
  • The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust

Membership types

Depending on your eligibility, you will have the option to choose the type of membership you receive. This can be altered in the future should you change your mind.

Library membership

Grants access to our online services, including databases, e-journals and e-books, evidence searches, evidence updates and training.

This membership option is ideal if you do not plan to visit our libraries in person or borrow print books.

Library membership and onsite library access

Includes the benefits of library membership plus access to our libraries, where you can borrow books and use our study and workspaces, PCs, printer-copiers and bookable rooms.

Both membership options are boosted with extra resources and services if you also register for NHS OpenAthens and KnowledgeShare accounts

Use of online resources

To use Imperiae-journals, e-books and databases, we will issue you with a library username and password when you register. Using this, you can access resources either on PCs located in the library, or by using 海角社区's Wi-Fi network (海角社区-WPA) on your own device. 

Borrowing

You may borrow:

  • NHS staff - 20 items for 3 weeks
  • NHS placement students - 5 items for 1 week

When you have selected the items you wish to borrow, take them to the desk or use one of our self-service machines.

We will automatically renew your items for up to 12 months before they must be returned for re-issue, unless they have been requested.

If an item is recalled, you will need to return it by the due date. Library Services charge fines on overdue recalled items.

You can return items to any Imperialibrary.

Requests

Sign in to  to request an item which is out on loan or at another campus. We will email you when it is available for collection. You can request a maximum of 10 items at one time.
