Using coding based activities at 海角社区....
Canvas contains a MATLAB integration called MATLAB Grader, which can be used to assess students MATLAB code. Ed Discussion also integrates with Canvas, allowing students to execute and experiment with code or tackle structured programming problems through code challenges. In addition, Vocareum and Ed Lessons and Workspaces integrate with Canvas, providing browser-based coding environments, interactive programming activities, automated assessment capabilities, and access to specialist computing resources for teaching, learning and assessment.
Ed Lessons and Workspaces
Ed Lessons and Workspaces is a cloud-based platform for teaching, learning and assessment that combines interactive course content with online coding environments. Staff can create lessons containing instructional content, quizzes, surveys and coding challenges, while students can complete coding activities and access development environments directly through their browser. Features that Ed Lessons and Workspaces offers include:
- Interactive lessons containing slides, reading materials, quizzes, surveys and coding challenges
- Runnable code blocks, live terminals and browser-based development environments
- Automated feedback and marking for coding exercises and assessments
- Real-time collaborative coding with multiple users working together simultaneously
- Cloud-hosted IDEs and Jupyter notebook environments requiring no local software installation
- Support for a wide range of programming languages including Python, R, C++, C#, Java and Julia
- LaTeX rendering, PDF previews and file-based coding projects
Vocareum
Vocareum is a cloud-based coding and computing platform that enables students to access ready-to-use environments for programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other computational activities directly through their web browser. It removes the need for software installation while providing a consistent environment for teaching, coursework, labs, and assessments. Features that Vocareum offers include:
- Browser-based access to pre-configured coding and computing environments
- Support for coding labs, practical exercises, coursework, and assessments
- Automated grading and feedback capabilities for coding assignments
- Access to specialist software and cloud computing resources
- Support for popular development environments including JupyterLab, RStudio, and Visual Studio Code
- Higher-performance computing resources for machine learning and data science activities
- Consistent learning environments for all students, regardless of device or location
- Cloud-based AI and Generative AI resources through the Vocareum AI Gateway
Ed Discussion
ed discussion is a question and answer discussion board used for teaching and learning. It can be accessed through a Blackboard Learn course or directly through the ed discussion website, via the ImperiaCollege single sign-on.
Matlab Grader
MATLAB Coding Problems can be created and linked to from a Blackboard course. Once added, staff and students that are enrolled on the course are automatically granted access to the coding problem. Features that MATLAB offers include:
- Automatic problem marking
- Real-time, contextual feedback provided for solutions
- Function or script-based problem authoring
- Multiple assessment criteria, including variables, loops and custom coded criteria
- Options for both correct/incorrect and weighted grading
- A library of reusable example problems
- Rich text, images, hyperlinks, and LaTeX equations allowed in problem descriptions
